5 Questions with...KM Jackson!

Hey there, readers! It's my pleasure to have KM Jackson over on the blog today - she's launching her second Crimson Romance book, Seduction's Canvas! A book screaming at me to stop blogging and start reading. But, having been sucked into her debut, Through the Lens, I know I need more than a 10-15 minute reading window...so I'm saving it for another couple of days. Isn't that a fab cover, readers? *swoons*

Kristina: What do you wear when you're writing?

KM: First off thanks so much for having me here Kristina. Now oh fun starting with a sexy question with a very un-sexy answer. I wear my usual uniform of a cami with a long sleeved tee on top and if it’s short sleeved I have my trusty cardigan to go over that because I am always cold. As for bottoms, I wear one of my many pair of yoga pant that have never seen a downward dog or a sun salutation.

Kristina: My yoga pants protest when I try those positions, too. So we stick with ...um...other exercise options. When was the last time you argued with one of your characters? And were you caught by a real person?

KM: I argue with my characters all the time. They are quite vocal and always surprise me with their actions. But then I argue with myself as I know they all come from me so I often get mad at myself for allowing them to wander so freely. Thankfully most of these things are done in the quiet confines of my head. I’ve learned early on to just have these discussions quietly. Though I have been known to lose control at night. I’m a notorious sleep talker.

Kristina: When my husband and I first got married, I used to wake him up all the time. Now, he just gives me an elbow jab and (apparently) I stop sleep-talking. How do you keep gremlins – like your family – out of your office/writing habitat?

KM: I still have trouble with this one. My office is my laptop and it goes where I go. The only designated space I have is in my bedroom and I can only keep the family out of there for so long.

Kristina: Have you ever taken your frustrations with the Real World out on your characters?

KM: I’m so sorry but this one I cannot confirm or deny. I can only send you to the disclaimer at the beginning of both my books and all my books to come. I will give a bit of advice though to family and friends of writers: use caution as everything is fodder for story.

Kristina: I call foul...fess up, it's good for the soul! lol If you could be one character from this book, who would it be? And why?

KM: I have to say Samara but only during certain parts of Seduction’s Canvas and if you read Seduction’s Canvas and meet Mark Thorn you’ll definitely know why and know which parts. *teaser alert* LOL

Excerpt from SEDUCTION’S CANVAS:

"I want to paint you" Artist Samara Leighton had wanted to say those words to the sexy motorcycle rider ever since she first laid eyes on him nearly a year ago.
"Honey, you don't have enough paint to cover me." Security specialist Mark Thorn didn't mean to come off hard. As a matter of fact, he wanted nothing more than to let the tempting artist do whatever she wanted to him and then some.
Samara knew this was her only chance to live out her long-standing fantasy and she wasn't going to let it slip through her fingers. She had little time before her show was done and the pressure of her family legacy meant finally living out life under the umbrella of the Leighton name and its responsibilities.
There would be no more lazy museum afternoons or evenings spent lost in the magic of color and her canvases. And definitely no time spent holding tight to the muscular form of her dark rider while the horrors of her past and her cares drifted further away with each mile of road they covered.

SEDUCTION’S CANVAS can be ordered at AMAZON  and Barnes & Noble

About K.M. Jackson

A native New Yorker, K.M. Jackson had two dreams for what she wanted to be when she “grew up”: 1. a fashion designer and 2. a writer.

After graduating from high school, she pursued her first dream and studied fashion design at New York’s FIT. She then spent ten years designing for various New York houses. But after years of juggling the oh-so-glam world of mid-market fashion along with being a mother of twins, K.M. took the leap of faith and decided to pursue her other long-held dream of being a writer.

She currently lives in a suburb of New York with her husband, teen twins, and her precocious terrier named Jack who keeps her on her toes. You can find her most days on her blog at www.kwana.com
