Sandra Sookoo's in A Wolfish Tangle!

Heya, readers! I'm very excited to welcome Sandra Sookoo back to the blog today! Sandra is celebrating the release of her latest - a historical/paranormal novel set in one of my favorite time periods: The American Civil War! Love the cover - isn't is pretty, readers? Sandra, take it away!

Sandra: Hi there! Thanks for having me on your blog today. In case you don’t know who I am, my name is Sandra Sookoo and I write romantic fiction across multiple genres.

Kristina: Welcome, welcome...now, for the most difficult of questions: M&Ms, Chips 'n Dip, Jell-O Shots…what's your snack of choice when you're on deadline?

Sandra: Gummi bears (the ones in the gold label), Swedish Fish or Pretzels.

Kristina: Oooh, gold label gummi's - yum! What's your favorite non-word (as in a word we've bastardized or completely made up) and why?

Sandra: What a great question! I like smug bastardy. I made it up one time when my husband was right on a disagreement and he got this specific look. I can’t explain it. That’s what it looked like LOL

Kristina: lol - I've seen that look! When the writing gets tough, who do you lean on?

Sandra: My husband. He’s a big supporter of my writing. I also have one or two close friends I turn to when things are rough. It’s good having people who can talk me down from the ledge.

Kristina: Husbands are good for the ledge-talking thing, for sure! Finish this sentence: For me, writing is like ________.

Sandra: ...giving my imagination wings. For me, being able to write and create stories gives me the opportunity to visit time lines and places I normally would never visit and to be a part of characters’ lives and struggles to see if I can make them better.

Kristina: I love that - I think we all write for that reason...at least a little bit! Tell us one interesting/funny/crazy thing about this book or its characters that didn't make in 'between the covers'?

Sandra: I had planned for the heroine’s name to be Alice but when I started work on the book, my fingers typed Caroline every time so that’s what she was named. Also, when I started the book, I had no idea Franklin had such passion beneath the surface. And in the scene where Caroline and Franklin visit the Camp Morton prison, I had never intended for Caroline to be disguised as a man. That happened on the spur of the moment LOL

A Wolfish Tangle released September 24, 2012 from Liquid Silver Books. It's a paranormal/historical. You can watch the book video here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W4Zi2-HmFmM&feature=youtu.be

Blurb:  What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger.

While the War Between the States grips America, Franklin Garrett fights his own battle.  A wolf shifter, he successfully manages Rutledge Estates, but he’s a failure at romance.  When an old family foes resurfaces and threatens his idyllic life, he sends his cousin Grey and his wife Lyndal away for their safety.  Unfortunately, a different sort of peril lands right on his doorstep, stirring his protectiveness and sense of duty.

Caroline Harrison’s brother is detained in Camp Morton, a Union war prison in Indianapolis. Led by intuition, she arrives at Rutledge Estates, where she’s promptly kissed by an inebriated Franklin.  Her personal desires collide with her devotion to her family and her personal promises, yet Southern charm will see her through. Though she’s had enough of arrogant men, she needs his help to spring her brother.

When the man who decimated the Rutledge wolf pack shows up, both Franklin and Caroline must figure out what’s more important in life—family or love?
