Black Friday Blog Hop - And Giveaway!
Update: The randomizer has done its job for this hop - and chosen April H (grapeapril85) to win the necklace and earrings. April, look for an email from me shortly. And more winners are here - including the grand prize winners...so go see what else you may have won!
Every holiday season is special but this one gets a highlighter from me: it's my first Thanksgiving as a Published Author. My debut, a contemporary romance, came out from Crimson Romance in June - and it was a long time coming. So this holiday I consider myself very lucky - not just to see my book in print but to have met so many wonderful new friends - both authors and readers!
I'm still giving thanks although the calendar has turned from Thanksgiving to Black Friday. In my family, we don't do the mall thing. We do the Family Day thing - games, leftovers from Thanksgiving and just spending time.
And reading. Because my Kindle screams for attention during holiday weekends. I've found some great new-to-me authors over long weekends, and as you're hopping through the Black Friday Blog Hop I hope you find a new book to read, too. Here's a peek into my debut:
What a Texas Girl Wants: Kathleen Witte is a down-to-earth girl. She has to be, with the family ranch on the verge of success. After seven months of keeping it all together by swearing off men, however, Kathleen needs a bit of fun in the sun. Waking up with a husband she can’t remember isn’t how she planned to blow off steam.
The last thing Jackson Taylor wants in his life is a down-to-earth girl. He has four weeks of freedom in which to find his birth mother. He’s done well avoiding commitment until now, so when he wakes up on a Mexican beach with Kathleen his first reaction is curiosity. When he spies the matching wedding rings on their left hands curiosity turns to concern.
Neither Jackson nor Kathleen want to stay married, but when her family shows up, they have no choice. Once back in Texas, however, can they keep this all-business marriage from turning into an all-consuming love?

What is your favorite thing about the Thanksgiving holiday? Leave me a comment - don't forget your email addy! - for a chance to win a necklace and earring set...the kind of thing one of my heroines might wear!
While the rest of the US is out handling the crowds, fighting for their holiday gifts, some of us like to stay in, shop online, or just ignore Black Friday all to together (I'm in the ignoring crowd). The 2nd annual Black Friday Blog Hop is a ONE DAY hop - filled with giveaways, plus we have THREE grand prizes. You as a reader can go to EACH blog and comment with your email address and be entered to win. Yep, you can enter over 200 times!
Now what are those prizes?

ReplyDeleteCongrats on being a published author! I love that I have 5 days off from work! I love my job, but 5 days off is blissful.
ReplyDeletecatherinelee100 at gmail dot com
with all the people (like us) avoiding stores, I wonder what the shopping is actually like? I know, I know, we're a small segment... ;) happy hopping, everyone!
ReplyDeleteCrazy. I worked the midnight shift at my store. We weren't too bad because we're in an outdoor mall and were the only store open. I hear Kohls was CRAZY! And of course Walmart and Target too.
DeleteI don't really do much in person shopping on Black Friday anymore. If I so head out in the evening if I need anything. All the crazy shoppers are sleeping off their morning splurging.
ReplyDeleteplanterofhope(at)aol(dot)com
I am sick , cooked meal yet unable to taste if good or not, My teen said good tho! I am thankfull to wake each day, I am thankful for my daughter! No shopping except for the .99 cent books special !!!
ReplyDeletestaci1964@hotmail.com
I got talked into going out last night with my mom and sisters. We hit Target at 9:00 and got some DVD's and kitchen stuff for my daughter who's moving out after the first of the year. It was actually kind of fun. I'm probably going to hit Fred Meyer's for the half-price sock sale after I get my shower--nothing too crazy though.
ReplyDeleteThen I go to work to repair the damage done by our black-Friday shoppers :)
Have a great day, Kristi- Happy readings to you
I love the turkey! This is the only time of year that we make a turkey!

This is the BEST way to spend Black Friday. Sitting at home, hopping with old friends and making new ones. I can't handle the crowds anymore so I only do Black Friday shopping online if I do any. I tend to pick up gifts throughout the year so come November I'm finished. That way I can spread out the purchasing and not spend a fortune at the time of the year when my job is at its slowest and my paycheck is at its lowest.:) Thanks for being part of the hop and for the chance to win. <^_^>

Just being with family is what makes my Thanksgiving great. I no longer go Black Friday shopping. Too many crazy people out there. I don't have the patience I had when I was younger, LOL. So today I am staying in and blog hopping, instead of shopping! angadair@nwcable.net Thanks for the hop!
