What do you love about Spring?

http://cowboycharm.blogspot.com/2014/01/springtime-in-country-blog-hop.html

Spring is one of my four favorite seasons - lol. I don't want to make winter mad, it might stick around a few more weeks, and I can't say it's summer because although I love it those oppressive heat/humidity days can get to me, and I do love fall but fall starts to push me toward winter and after a winter like this one, its hard for me to find the joy in snow. And ice. And days when the temperature gauge doesn't even hit 0.

My absolute favorite thing about spring is the hope it brings with it. This week is the perfect opening for spring, at least where we live, because the sun has been brilliant all week. Temperatures in the upper 40s with a light breeze blowing in the promise that soon we'll see 60 and then 70 and then it will be pool and picnic time again.

Sooner than that, it will be planting time. My annuals will peek through the groundcover and the grass will green up. There is something about a spring garden that makes me stop and think and just enjoy the moment.

What about you? Does spring make you stop and smell the (almost) blooming roses? Tell us why spring is your favorite in the comments (don't forget your email address so I can contact you) ... I'm offering up three copies of my backlist - What a Texas Girl Wants, What a Texas Girl Needs, What a Texas Girl Dreams, The Saint's Devilish Deal and Mr. Right Now - and there is a grand prize, too:

a $100 Gift Card to either Amazon or Barns and Noble (winner's choice)

What a Texas Girl Wants:

Kathleen Witte is a down-to-earth girl. She has to be, with the family ranch on the verge of success. After seven months of keeping it all together by swearing off men, however, Kathleen needs a bit of fun in the sun. Waking up with a husband she can’t remember isn’t how she planned to blow off steam.

The last thing Jackson Taylor wants in his life is a down-to-earth girl. He has four weeks of freedom in which to find his birth mother. He’s done well avoiding commitment until now, so when he wakes up on a Mexican beach with Kathleen his first reaction is curiosity. When he spies the matching wedding rings on their left hands curiosity turns to concern.

Neither Jackson nor Kathleen want to stay married, but when her family shows up, they have no choice. Once back in Texas, however, can they keep this all-business marriage from turning into an all-consuming love?

  2. Springtime in the country means rebirth, new life, and color after a bleak midwinter! I plant a garden, do some weeding, going for longer walks with hubby and dog, going for bike rides, escaping from the confines of the house and a heater! Thanks for asking. jdh2690@gmail.com

  4. I like Spring, sitting on my porch reading. I do have to wait until the pine (yellow pollen) is gone. It covers everything.

  8. Spring is my favorite!! I can't wait to start wearing my flip flops again & but the dang boots away lol. It's still a little cool here in Massachusetts, but once it hits steady 50's the flip flops are going on lol. And once it's warmer I can go read on my porch or in the park in back of my house,... and take walks down by the water. =)
